On Saturday 2nd of September the Branch held another Royal Air Force Big Band Concert at the Corn Hall in Diss. Once again the concert featured The Royal Air Force Honington Voluntary Band, this time with even more members present.
In addition to the concert we also had our stall with a small selection of our products, as well as a raffle with prizes generously donated or sponsored by several local businesses and organisations.
The musical programme featured a selection of classical pieces as well as tunes from stage and screen, both military and non military in nature. These were all well received by a near capacity crowd, who enjoyed the music as well as the banter between the father and son conductors (should now be grandfather and father) as well as the additional locomotive history!
It was another very successful evening all round. The musical programme was as good as ever and collection buckets were ably wielded by Air Cadets from 1070 Diss Squadron and branch members.
Many hanks to all who attended or helped organise this fantastic event and help raise over £1,105 for the Wings Appeal.
Thanks again to David Nunn for additional pics.
