Saturday 31st July and Sunday 1st of August were the dates of this year's sold out Old Buckenham Airshow, back after last years absence due to lockdown. Once again the branch had it's stall set up for the duration of the show.
For the second time we were set up near the hangars with all the other charity and association stands. Set up took place on a damp and windy friday afternoon with the decision to leave final setup to the mornings of the event to limit damage caused by weather.
The weather on the Saturday turned out to be almost perfect with a broken cloudbase and sunshine! allowing for a full flying programme. After over a year of lockdown there were a large varity of stalls, military vehicles and classic cars also to see and the crowd turned out on mass.
The conditions on the Sunday were initially poor with heavy cloud and sporadic heavy downpours but still the crowds came out and as can be seen by the top photo the weather cleared just in time for another days full flying programme to comence. Although the cloud and drizzle did make a return later in the day all the planned flying occured.
We were visited by many members of the public as usual whose generous donations helped raise almost £500 for the Wings Appeal, and amost cleaned us out of some products. Many thanks to you all.
A further thanks to all the branch members who helped out over the weekend to kick start our fundraising again.
