Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th of July were the dates of this year's Old Buckenham Airshow and for the second year in a row the weather gods were not smiling. This did not stop the branch from once again having it's stall set up for the duration of the show.
This year we were set up near the hangars with all the other charity and association stands, just round the corner from the Royal Air Force's large display tent.
The weather on the Saturday was blustery, overcast and frequently showery but thankfully it cleared enought by mid afternoon for the flying display to proceed, for a little while anyway.
Several aircraft braved the conditions as seen in the attached gallery and we were especially lucky that Flying Fortress B-17G "Sally B" and a P51 Mustang managed to transit to the show and put on a display.
The conditions on the Sunday were even worse, very similar to last year's and the flying programme was virtually non existant. A real shame for those in attendance not to mention the organisers.
Despite the conditions however we were visited by many members of the public whose generous donations helped raise over £400 for the appeal. Many thanks to you all.
A further thanks to all the branch members who helped out over the weekend in challenging conditions. Here's to a dryer 2020.
