We held the first joint Diss/ Thetford RAFA Summer Garden Party in Barnham village on Saturday July the sixth in the glorious surroundings of the Old Parsonage with lashings of tea, cake and prosseco. I was delighted to present ex Lancaster bomb aimer Norman Gregory (97) with a framed certificate of his honorary membership of the Diss Branch.
He regaled us with his experiences of WW2 and was seldom seen without a glass in his hand. Peter Holland was recruited to the Branch and awarded a RAF 100 mug.
Intermittent rain didn’t stop us enjoying croquet, boules, jenga and other garden games.
A thoroughly enjoyable , very English, afternoon for everyone.
